Week 4 – Fuchs Ecocool Ultralife A

06.03.13

Fuchs Lubricants, a trusted partner in supplying high quality fluids for the metalworking industry, have developed a concept called ‘Advanced Coolantology’; a range of coolants designed to offer optimum machining performance and surface finish, exceptional long life performance and the ultimate in machining cleanliness for an improved working environment. For this weeks Product of the Week, we take a look at Fuchs’ semi-synthetic, water soluble cutting fluid, ‘Ecocool Ultralife A’ which uses this Advanced Coolantology to provide a remarkable cutting performance and surface finish, regardless of machining application, material or water type.

Fuchs Ecocool Ultralife

Developed by an expert team of engineers and chemists, ‘Ecocool Ultralife A’ doesn’t contain sodium nitrite, phenols, triazene, PTBBA or chlorinated additives offering ‘best in class’ performance compared to leading UK products.

‘Ecocool Ultralife A’ can be used for general to heavy duty machining on aluminium alloys and is also suited to machining stainless steels and automotive aluminium castings. Incorporating extreme pressure additives that are non-staining, along with lubricity improvers, ensures maximum tool performance and produces an enhanced surface finish on ferrous and non ferrous feedstocks and yellow metals.

Ultralife products are produced with a combination of safe but powerful biocides which reduce bacterial growth in sumps meaning less maintenance and monitoring is needed. This also helps to reduce fluid consumption and can increase the machine sump life. These safe biocides make it easier for companies to comply with REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals) and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
